This course starts where the basic Concealed Carry course leaves off.  After a review of firearms safety rules and basic pistol skills, this training focuses on the basic skills required to effectively use a handgun for self defense. The course teaches you advanced concealed carry techniques with topics that include drawing and shooting from the holster, efficient weapons handling, malfunction clearances, speed reloads, tactical reloads, off-hand shooting, basic practice drills, use of cover and concealment, target identification and multiple target prioritization, 360 degree awareness, use of a flashlight with a handgun, shooting from multiple positions and shooting on the move.  This course employs a variety of exercises all designed to develop basic gun-handling and marksmanship skills, helping you get shots on target more quickly.

The course is 8 hours in length, delivered over one day of instruction, generally either Saturday or Sunday. Participants must be at least 21 years of age and must possess a valid Arizona Concealed Weapons Permit.   Required equipment includes eye and ear protection, an appropriate firearm, a quality, strong-side holster (no fanny packs, belly bands, shoulder or small-of-back holsters), a minimum of two spare magazines or speed-loaders, an appropriate magazine carrier and at least 250 rounds of ammunition.  It is strongly recommended that you also wear a billed hat, long pants, comfortable shoes or boots and a sturdy belt that will support the weight of your handgun and other gear.
