Why Train with APDI?

In today’s society, an alarming percentage of criminals are resorting to violence.  Armed confrontations are becoming a more common occurrence.  All you need to do is read your local newspaper for evidence of that fact.

If you are concerned about safety and are planning to become or are already licensed to carry a handgun, you need proper training to be able to use your firearm in a responsible and effective manner.

APDI offers the highest level of professionalism and expertise in the latest firearms tactics and personal protection skills available.  Our training is high intensity, reality based training that will expose you to skills that surpass the traditional handgun methods commonly taught and focus on the skills you need to survive an armed confrontation on the street.

While APDI highly recommends that you get the best firearms training possible, most people don’t have the time or cannot justify the cost to attend a week long class at one of the top shooting schools.

APDI’s course curriculum is designed to provide a logical progression of training starting with either the AZ CCW Course or a Basic Pistol Course.  From there the student can progress to more advanced training depending on the skills they wish to develop.

For new shooters interested in concealed carry, the Advanced Concealed Carry Techniques class is the logical next step after the Arizona CCW Course.  For the more advanced shooter, there are a variety of courses from the more general Defensive Pistol Level 1 and Level 2 , to more specifically targeted classes like Low Light Gunfighting or Close Range Gunfighting.

Our training courses allow our students to select the training important to them while allowing them to spread out the cost / time commitment while still gaining the high quality of firearms training they desire.

Our Training Locations
Most of APDI’s training in Phoenix occurs at the Ben Avery Shooting Facility in North Phoenix.  Ben Avery is located just west of Carefree Highway at I-17.  As an accredited training organization, APDI uses private ranges and air-conditioned classrooms at the Ben Avery facility.   We have access to short range pistol bays for CCW, Tactical Pistol bays for more advanced training, as well as Rifle and Shotgun ranges for training in those disciplines.  Ben Avery has received numerous awards from the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) and the National Association of Shooting Ranges (NASR) and is considered to be one of the top public shooting facilities in the United States.

We are also expanding our training schedule in 2008 and will be offering a wide range of classes in the Flagstaff, Tucson and Yuma areas of Arizona.  We also plan to introduce a schedule of more advanced pistol training including Defensive Pistol and Close Range Gunfighting in both Northern and Southern CA.  Contact us for more details on schedule and location.
