New Courses at APDI…
In response
to many student requests, APDI introduces two new
classes…Advanced Concealed Carry Techniques and Low-Light
Shooting Techniques and Tactics
Advanced Concealed Carry
Techniques
This course starts where the basic Concealed Carry course leaves
off. After a review of firearms safety rules and basic
pistol skills, this training focuses on the basic skills
required to effectively use a handgun for self-defense.
Topics include drawing and shooting from the holster, efficient
weapons handling, malfunction clearances, speed reloads,
tactical reloads, off-hand shooting, basic practice drills, use
of cover and concealment, target identification and multiple
target prioritization, 360 degree awareness, use of a flashlight
with a handgun, shooting from multiple positions and shooting on
the move. This course employs a variety of exercises all
designed to develop basic gun-handling and marksmanship skills,
helping you get shots on target more quickly.
Low-Light Shooting Techniques and Tactics
This course focuses exclusively on the issues related to
shooting in Low-Light situations. Since the vast majority
of armed exchanges occur at night, this is an essential course
for anyone who regularly carries a firearm at night.
Topics covered include the physiology of the human eye and how
it functions in low-light conditions, flashlight techniques,
weapons mounted lights, use of night sights, reduced light
search techniques, target identification and acquisition,
low-light in indoor vs. outdoor environments and low-light
specific tactics.
